‘When Creativity Knocks’ is always coming up with fun and fabulous ideas. Her book
‘Felt from the Heart’ is no exception, it features more than 24 handmade stuffed animals, creatures, veggies and habitats. It’s a wonderful way to introduce children to basic stitching. Ana uses embroidery floss, mittens, and simple stitches to construct these adorable critters.
Visiting with my sister Amy in Sante Fe is something I make time for every year. I love the food, the feel and the imagery of New Mexico. This year I also took the opportunity to teach six classes on Zentangle®, Journaling and Gelli Printing (at Guadalupe Rubber Stamps, Artisan Store and Perch Paperie in Santa Fe and Los Alamos). I also took a wonderful four day class from acrylics expert Sandra Duran Wilson. Amy and I had so much fun revisiting some of my favorite spots near Sante Fe.
El Rincon is one of the oldest trading posts in the area… it is filled with antiques and has a small museum inside as well.
When I travel I always take a lot of photos of doors, doorknobs and hardware. Love this blue door!!
I love the ethereal quality of this photo, shot from the bottom of the steps of this pristine mission church in Laguna Pueblo. The church has beautifully carved wooden doors and white crosses everywhere. This photo inspires me to begin painting Southwest scenes again, I may even add a mysterious woman in each one.
The Pink Adobe is a favorite restaurant, they make absolutely wonderful Green Chile Enchildas. This large blue frame on the outside of the restaurant filled with primitive, colorful art caught my eye.
